Randy Greenwood suffers injury

Postby Camino » Saturday, August 16th, 2008 10:43am

Lake Catholic's Randy Greenwood will be out atleast 6 weeks after suffering a broken leg yesterday (8-15) during a scrimmage at Mentor's Jerome T. Osborne Stadium. After catching a pass on the sideline, an opposing defender landed on his leg causing the break. Lake Catholic, who is ranked # 11 in the WTAM Power 11 will suffer as an entire team due to the loss of Greenwood. Greenwood, who just committed to Akron University, ran for 1,600 yards last season and was an integral part of to the Cougars offense. Lake Catholic will remain # 11 in the WTAM Power 11, but a Week 1 showdown with # 3 Euclid will be as great a test as the Cougars will face this season.

Just found out today, Greenwood is out for the season. Major blow to the Cougars, but they will still be tough this upcoming season.

I played with Randy, he was a freshman when I was a senior at Lake. He's a great athlete and I think it'd be wise to put that name in your pocket and remember it in the years to come.

Now that I attend a MAC school, (Ohio University) I know what MAC-ball is like, and with his ability he could shine at Akron. I wish he was going to play CB, because I think he's more of a fit there and his instincts are great, but I'm sure he'll do fine regardless.

Good luck, Randy!
